David Ord PGA Teaching Professional Bio 2024

Hello my name is David Ord I am 50yrs Old & a PGA Qualified Teaching Professional with over 20 years of experience.

When I was an amateur golfer I represented Magdalene Fields G.C, Eyemouth G.C., Aberdeen University and Goswick G.C, in senior team matches as well as winning Gents Club Championships at Eyemouth Golf Club and Goswick Golf Club.

I still enjoy competing when I can in North East/North West PGA events and the Open Championship Qualifying each year.

I started my 1st PGA position at Goswick G.C. in 2002, assisting the Club Professional Paul Terras. Coaching has always been my passion and has been my main role since 2005.

I’ve always been fascinated with golf technique and improving all aspects of an individuals game. I am always striving to improve my knowledge and the understanding of technique, practice routines, golf psychology & golf specific exercises, with my aim to be a better and more effective golf coach.

I became a T.P.I. (Titleist Performance Institute) certified golf coach in 2013. This has been invaluable when assessing how a student moves, along with their golf technique & any physical tendencies/limitations that they may have! As this screening process is invaluable for me to plan effective & personalised sessions for each individual.

Over the years I’ve developed and improved the games of many golfers of all abilities! From complete beginners to professional golfers. I can offer 1-1 lessons, group sessions, playing lessons, online video/zoom lessons & a complete TPI screening & evaluation.

All coaching session videos, photographs and personalised lesson notes are documented online in each individuals Free CoachNow folder.

The aim of my coaching is to answer these 3 important questions;-
• What should I be doing?
• Why should I be doing it?
• How do I do it?

This will help to improve the players understanding of their golf technique, whilst building their confidence & ultimately their on course enjoyment.
